Jens Neygaard Knudsen is the creator of the Lego minifigure as we know it today (moving arms, hands and legs). Jens was born on January 25th, 1942 in Denmark (Hvide Sande) and started working at the Lego Company in 1968, where he worked as chief designer. Jens retired in 2000. 

Besides the legendary minifigure, Jens is also responsible for themes like Classic Space (first models and most of the later models), Blacktron, Aquanauts, Ice Planet, Classic Castle, Trains, Pirates and Adventurers. He passed away on February 19th, 2020. At the time of his death, there were about 8 billion minifigures worldwide.
